So last night was Halloween and islandistas from the worlds of fashion, music and media have been getting into the spooky spirit all week long.
Last night they went bump (and more) in the night and many of our favourite islandistas were out costumed to the nines.
We start of course with Rihanna whose costumes over the years have reflected her slightly warped sense of humour (does anyone remember her weed costume from 2012?).
This year, Riri chose to go green again but this time as one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Bestie Melissa Forde posted pics of their crew from their Halloween night out, showing Rihanna as Rih-phael and herself as Leonardo.

We’re a little disappointed that Rihanna was the only one who didn’t wear a green wig to complete the outfit. You’re already painted green – let’s go all the way through with the theme!
Cora Emmanuel was definitely the scariest islandista out there last night as she went as a fairly terrifying White Nun from American Horror Story:Asylum.

And apparently she did the makeup herself! Back up career or wha?
Booty queens J Lo and Nicki Minaj unsurprisingly chose sexy costumes. J. Lo went as a sexy devil at her party where she was flanked by Iggy Azalea as one of the White Chicks (ha! I see what you did there Aussie!) and Demi Lovato. Nicki said her costume was her as a teacher’s pet but it was really just lingerie and an apple. We’ve seen Nicki more costumey for the red carpet and that’s a fact. Kinda disappointing because we were hoping to see her dig into that wig stash for something cray and awesome.

Someone who seemed to be committing to crazy was Martiniquan model Melodie Monrose who showed a teaser of her planned ‘crazy cat lady’ costume, complete with cat. She hasn’t posted party pics as yet so no telling if the feline hit the town too.

Some folks were partying it up from early in the week like Joan Smalls who appeared at Harper’s Bazaar editor-at-large Derek Blasberg’s party dressed as a sexy samurai and St. Lucian Shala Monroque who went to another party as a futuristic Blue Ivy.

And while most islandistas who were out for Halloween were partying, some merged work and play like Vashtie Kola who DJ’d at a party for Maserati last night but still got dressed up. Because… Halloween!
