Glamour Magazine goes for back-to-back islandista covers as Rihanna fronts November issue

Glamour Magazine has outdone itself with back-to-back covers starring islandistas! Following their October cover with Scandal star Kerry Washington, the magazine has Barbados’ superstar Rihanna on the cover of their the November issue.

The interview and shoot was done in Barbados while she was home for Crop-Over and fittingly, she explains the difference between Robyn (her first name and the one people who grew up with her still use) and her middle name and ‘stage name’ Rihanna.

When people call me Robyn, my head just flies around because I feel like that person knows me. But Rihanna, that tends to be people’s own (creation). Robyn is who I am. Rihanna —that’s an idea of who I am.

And no doubt already clued in to the faux furor (from non-Caribbean people) over her Foreday Morning jamming a few hours before, she adds:

I know I am [misunderstood.] That’s why it’s important for me to know who I am. There’s no way for people to know me. All they have are a couple of pictures and some crazy headlines to go off of,” she says. “You can’t change who you are. It’s important for me to know who I am and work with that. They’re gonna keep knocking away until all this comes crashing down. But I’m not gonna ever crash. I’m in control.”

So are you going to pick it up come November? We know we will!
