Kerry Washington accepts the President’s Award at the 44th annual NAACP Image Awards

“Class is class but form is only temporary.”
Watching this video of Kerry Washington accepting the President’s Award at the NAACP Image Awards reminds me of that expression which we usually use in the West Indies when we’re talking about cricket.

Islandista by descent Kerry Washington is in the form of her life right now – starring on ABC’s hit TV show Scandal as well as Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, the slavery-themed western which has been the highest-grossing movie of Tarantino’s career.

But more important than form is class. And Kerry Washington is just showing so much class in this acceptance speech. She is smart, articulate, passionate and her Oscar de la Renta dress is on! Her parents must be so proud.

We are too.
