Melanie Fiona for Naniki Caribbean Jazz Safari!

Guyanese-Canadian artiste Melanie Fiona

That is us super excited that islandista Melanie Fiona is coming to the Caribbean in a fortnight for the upcoming Naniki Caribbean Jazz Safari.

You know we love Ms. Fiona already  – our pepperpot-eating, Grammy-winning islandista-who’s-not-actually-from-an-island (but she’s proudly of Guyanese parentage and we can’t ever leave out our GT massive – this is a Caribbean blogzine!)

Besides the fact that she flies the flag for her Caribbean heritage (and ahem giving way a secret here… from my native city), she’s an incredibly talented and soulful singer so we’re thrilled that she’s coming (close) to home for the Jazz Safari – which is in itself something we’re excited about.

The Jazz Safari is going to four islands over the course of four months, bringing some really talented Caribbean jazz musicians to some spectacular venues.

It kicks off in Barbados in January and travels through Antigua, St. Vincent and Grenada, finishing April 28 in the Spice Isle.

Will you be there? Because we sure will!
